Terms of service

Last updated: 3 June 2026

Welcome to Vargrim Craftworks.

Vargrim Craftworks is a cinematic miniature painting and commission studio based in the United Kingdom. We paint, finish, photograph and sell wargaming miniatures, display pieces, army projects and related hobby products.

These Terms apply when you use our website, place an order, request a commission quote, purchase a finished miniature, or otherwise deal with Vargrim Craftworks.

1. Who we are

This website is operated by Vargrim Craftworks.

Legal owner / trading entity: [INSERT LEGAL OWNER OR COMPANY NAME]
Email: [INSERT PUBLIC CUSTOMER EMAIL]
Business address: [INSERT SERVICEABLE BUSINESS ADDRESS]
Website: vargrimcraftworks.com

Throughout these Terms, "we", "us" and "our" refer to Vargrim Craftworks. "You" and "your" refer to the customer, visitor, client or buyer.

2. What we sell

We may offer:

  • finished painted miniatures;
  • painted display pieces;
  • pre-owned, restored or rescue miniatures;
  • commission painting services;
  • basing, assembly, repair and finishing services;
  • digital guides, resources or downloads;
  • hobby accessories, merchandise or affiliate-linked recommendations.

Each product or commission will be described as clearly as possible before purchase.

3. Product descriptions

We make every reasonable effort to show miniatures and products accurately. However, because painted miniatures are handmade items, small variations in finish, colour, texture, photography, screen display and lighting may occur.

Photos are part of the description, but display colours can vary between screens. If you need a specific colour match or army scheme, please tell us before placing an order or approving a commission.

4. Pricing

Prices are shown in pounds sterling unless stated otherwise.

For ready-to-buy products, the product price will be shown before checkout.

For commissions, we will provide a written quote before work begins. The quote will usually include the agreed painting standard, scope of work, estimated timescale, deposit amount, remaining balance and any known postage or material costs.

We do not intentionally add hidden mandatory charges late in the buying process. Delivery, postage, insurance or special packaging costs will be shown or agreed before payment wherever possible.

5. Orders

An order is accepted only when we confirm it by email, message, invoice, Shopify confirmation or other written confirmation.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where:

  • the item is unavailable;
  • the price or description contains a clear error;
  • payment has not cleared;
  • the requested work is outside our current capacity;
  • the request involves counterfeit, recast, infringing or unlawfully copied miniatures;
  • the customer behaves abusively, dishonestly or unreasonably.

If we cancel an order after payment and no work has started, we will refund the amount paid.

6. Payment

Payment must be made through the payment methods shown on the website, invoice or checkout.

For commissions, we may require a deposit before work begins. The remaining balance must be paid before final delivery unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Ownership of finished goods does not pass to you until payment has been received in full.

7. Commission work

Commission work is covered by our separate Commission Terms, which form part of these Terms.

Because commission painting is bespoke, personalised and made to your specification, different cancellation and refund rules apply compared with standard ready-to-buy products.

8. Delivery

Delivery terms are covered by our Shipping Policy.

We will package miniatures carefully, but wargaming miniatures are fragile by nature. We recommend tracked and insured shipping for all painted miniatures and commission projects.

9. Returns and refunds

Returns and refunds are covered by our Returns & Refunds Policy.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.

10. Intellectual property

All Vargrim Craftworks branding, photography, written content, video content, painting recipes, layouts, product descriptions and original studio assets belong to Vargrim Craftworks unless otherwise stated.

You may not copy, reproduce, resell, scrape, republish or commercially use our content without written permission.

Miniature ranges, game names, logos, characters and settings belonging to companies such as Games Workshop, Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000, Citadel, Forge World, Warmachine, Privateer Press and other publishers remain the property of their respective owners.

Vargrim Craftworks is an independent hobby studio. We are not endorsed by, sponsored by, affiliated with or officially connected to those rights holders unless explicitly stated.

11. Photography, video and portfolio use

Unless agreed otherwise before work begins, you allow Vargrim Craftworks to photograph and film the miniatures we paint, restore, sell or deliver.

We may use those photos and videos for:

  • portfolio pages;
  • YouTube videos;
  • social media posts;
  • website content;
  • printed displays;
  • advertising;
  • educational or process content.

We will not publish your personal contact details or private information without permission.

If a project is confidential, a surprise gift, commercially sensitive, or must not be shown publicly before a certain date, you must tell us before accepting the quote.

12. Reviews and testimonials

We only want genuine feedback from real customers. We do not knowingly publish fake reviews or misleading testimonials.

If a review, testimonial, discount, free item or other benefit is connected to an incentive, we will aim to make that clear.

13. Affiliate links

Some links on our website, blog, video descriptions or product recommendations may be affiliate links. This means we may earn a small commission if you buy through the link, at no extra cost to you.

As an Amazon Associate, Vargrim Craftworks may earn from qualifying purchases.

Affiliate income helps support the studio, but we only aim to recommend products that are relevant to miniature painting, hobby work, filming, basing or studio production.

14. Website use

You must not misuse this website. You must not attempt to interfere with the site, bypass security, scrape content, upload malicious code, impersonate another person, or use the site for unlawful purposes.

15. Limitation of liability

We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our negligence.

We are not responsible for losses that are not foreseeable, business losses where you are buying as a consumer, delays outside our control, or damage caused by your own handling, storage, modification or repair attempts after delivery.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time of your order will apply to that order.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, you may have additional rights depending on where you live in the UK.
