Miniature Commission Painting Prices
You love the look of painted miniatures — you simply don't have the time, the skill, or the patience to get there yourself. That is exactly why commission painters exist.
The Three Standards
Tabletop
Clean, cohesive, ready to game. Base colours, wash, neatened detail and a tidy base. Built to look sharp across the table at playing distance.
Tabletop-Plus
A clear step above the table. Layered highlights, controlled shading, fine detail, lighting effects and scenic basing. Looks excellent at any distance.
Display
The slow work. Blending, NMM, freehand, OSL and bespoke bases. Pieces painted to their limit — made for the cabinet, not the battlefield.

Do I need to send models built?
Ideally yes — assembled and cleaned models are ready to prime and paint straight away. If you'd prefer to send unassembled kits, add the assembly & prep enhancement to your quote.
Can you assemble and prep models?
Yes. Assembly and prep is available as an add-on at £4–8 per model depending on complexity. Mention it when you send your enquiry.
How long does a commission take?
Timescales vary by project size and current queue. Every commission receives a realistic turnaround estimate at the quote stage. Priority turnaround (under 2 weeks) is available at +25%.
Do I get WIP updates?
Yes. WIP photo updates are included on every commission throughout the build, so you can follow progress and request adjustments before completion.
Can my commission be filmed?
Many commissions are filmed for the Vargrim Craftworks YouTube channel — WIP updates, process footage and cinematic reveal photography. This is always discussed and agreed beforehand.
How does the £50 deposit work?
The deposit secures your studio slot and is deducted from your final quoted total. It is only taken after your project has been discussed, quoted and agreed — not at browsing stage.
Is return postage included?
Return postage and insurance are charged at cost and itemised in your final invoice. Your models are packed carefully and sent tracked.
Can you match a colour scheme?
Yes. Send reference images — photos of existing models, artwork, box art or written descriptions — and the scheme will be matched or interpreted as closely as possible.
Send your model photos and preferred standard for a fixed quote.
